We start fishing in mid March for sheepshead south of the barrier islands. The hard fighting and great tasting fish are caught on shrimp using spinning tackle.
Sharks start biting in April around the barrier islands. Most commonly caught spices are the Atlantic Sharp Nose shark and the Black Tip shark. Although there are many other types to be caught on one of our MS Gulf Coast Charter Boat Fishing Trips, these two are the most common.
The Redfish and Spanish mackerel will start running in April. This is the time of year we start trolling and there is plenty of action for the entire family on a MS Gulf Coast Charter Boat Fishing Trip. We look for large schools of bait fish that the larger fish have pushed to the top. Also, flocks of birds let us know where the schools of Redfish, Mackerel, Sharks and Jacks are located.
